Deborah Rodriguez MD, MA, OCDS

Trauma Support, Peer Specialist

Dr. Rodriguez is a general pediatrician who sees patients from birth to college. She has specialty training in trauma-informed care and extends her practice to support adolescent and adult survivors of abuse, violence, and trauma, including mental health counseling. She has spoken at medical conferences including the national Catholic Medical Association conferences. She is a consultant to survivor focused groups including those that provide care to human trafficking survivors. She facilitates peer support groups for survivors of abuse through the Hopeful Hearts Ministry, Maria Goretti Network, Mending the Soul Ministry, and Compassion Connect. She has served on international medical mission trips to Mexico, Honduras, Ecuador, and Uganda. She is married, mother to three children, lay Carmelite, and serves her church as lector, catechist, spiritual director, and mentor.

Dr. Rodriguez is also a survivor of childhood abuse, including clergy sexual abuse. She has shared her story with and extends her support for survivor advocacy groups such as: Maria Goretti Network, Hopeful Hearts Ministry, Spirit Fire Ministry, AWAKE Milwaukee, Archdiocese of Chicago Office of Assistance Ministry, USCCB Committee for Protection of Children and Young People, Mending the Soul Ministry, and The Healing Voices Magazine. She has contributed her expertise and writing in the book by fellow survivor, Allen Hebert in Abuse of Trust (https://www.abuseoftrust.org/).
