This date night began Sunday evening when I realized I had a free Friday evening…and being that I was in one room and Neal was in the other it dawned on me that we needed something to bring us a bit closer together, if even to get us in the same room! 😉  So, being the tech genius that I am, I text Neal (because why yell?) and asked him, “Will you go on a date with me Friday?” with which he replied, “I’m free and I would like that.”  Isn’t that romantic?  😉

For dinner we went to Carrabas and sat outside enjoying the cool breeze, a nice glass of vino and the seafood cannelloni which is amazing.  Not to mention the greatest invention in desserts ever…the shot glass variety!  Just enough to give you the taste you need without overdosing on sugar.  Yes, I was in heaven. 🙂  Plus we never ran out of things to talk about, which is nice.  In fact, it shined a glaring light on the fact that we need to make more of these ‘date nights’ possible just so we can talk about life, dreams, drama and all that lies in between.  Get this…we only talked about the kids in the first 10 minutes and that was it! I mean, we actually enjoy one another’s company!  (Yes I’m being sarcastic, he is my husband, I love him dearly.)

Afterward we went to see the movie, The Social Network, which was highly intriguing and in many parts I got a good laugh (out loud) moment and when it was over I was wanting more.  We held hands like we were sixteen and cared about whether or not the other was comfortable.

It was obvious how God showed up for me today.  He gave me this moment of time to reconnect with the man that draws me closer to Him.  I need to record this if only to look back and remind myself that we need to do this more than just every 6 months to a year!!

Blessings
