I went into the day knowing it was going to be long and exhausting and it delivered.  The day began with an early 8am arrival to the ball fields for pictures, then a 9:30 game followed by another 11:30 game.  Straight from the fields I left to work the parish festival with my oldest son at the Squires booth.  It was a gorgeous day to do both events, the baseball games and the festival but once you stood in the sun it was blazing hot!

Despite the heat it was a joy to see so many families converge together.  Rarely is there an opportunity for all of us to see our community family in a setting where we can catch up on the latest pregnancy, house move, promotion etc.  We hear daily of the prayer requests through the prayer chain but this was a time to share about the good that is going on in everyone’s life. At least that was my experience when talking to fellow parishioners that I hadn’t spent time with besides a friendly nod in Mass.  It was a joy to see kids who’d gotten taller, bigger, talking, walking, etc.  Families expanding and everyone enjoying themselves.

Yes I was sticky mess by the time we gathered for the bilingual parish Mass  but it didn’t matter.  We were together as one family.

Blessings
