Good evening everyone! As my husband is on his way to an LSU game with the ‘guys’ I am preparing to spend an evening with the other men in my life. 😉 Thankfully this is one rare weekend that there is nothing ‘major’ on the calendar and I am so ready to just ‘chill’.
As the title indicates we are coming together this weekend as a unified community wearing our Team Joseph t-shirts to Sunday’s LIFETEEN Mass (5:30pm at St. Martha’s Catholic Church, 3702 Woodland Hills Dr., Kingwood, TX). Joseph is headed for surgery on Thursday, November 11th to replace the piece of skull they had removed in June to allow his brain to swell without suffering further brain damage. Now the swelling has gone down and the doctor’s say he is ready to undergo the intensive surgery to replace the skull. If you are not able to attend Mass on Sunday, we are also having an ecumenical prayer service on Wednesday evening at 7pm at the parish. We will say the rosary (as a part of the 54 day rosary novena we’ve been doing for nearly 30 days to date) and there will be a band for praise and worship plus some other prayers. Both events are open to everyone. If you are not living in Kingwood and able to make either event please keep Joseph, Terri and Rob Stanton in your prayers. Miracles of faith have already taken place in association with this devastating tragedy. People who have been angry and walked away from God have read Rob and Terri’s Caring Bridge blog and have reconciled with God. Even unbelievers have come to believe for the first time.
We do not know what God’s will is for Joseph and it might be that this is how God sees fit to work the most through his precious life on earth…but as it has come up again and again James 4:8 says, “Come near to God and He will come near to you.” Rob and Terri are asking us to join them at the Lord’s feet to ask with every ounce of belief we can muster for a miracle for their only son. If this were my son I’d be begging you for the same.
God is a God of miracles and His bounty is endless.
Enjoy the miracle of life this day. 🙂
Blessings
Shannon
