Blessed are they who mourn,
for they shall be comforted.

I seek forgiveness for the whining I had done in regards to our ‘pilgrimage’ at World Youth Day.  I’m not taking back what was truth.  The facts were facts and it made for a miserable time which in some instances I would say it ‘felt like hell’.

However, after watching the Biography Channel’s “I Survived – 9/11” Special episode I said out loud to myself, “That is living through hell.”  And the beauty is they survived so we could hear their story.  They survived to remind us that life is precious.

I strongly encourage you to watch this episode.  I do not recommend it for kids under 13.  After 10 years the survivors (many who were only a few floors below where the planes hit the towers) are speaking candidly about what they saw, heard, felt, etc.  It is horrific but I think we need to hear it.  Click on “I Survived” below to be taken to the Biography Channel’s direct link.

I SURVIVED – 9/11

Tonight I get to celebrate the dear life of my advisor and friend Msgr. Charles Elmer at his vigil and tomorrow is the funeral.  It is good to embrace the fragility of life and to contemplate the legacy you are leaving behind.

Blessings
