Occasionally I’ll sit before the computer, on a day like today when the sun is bright, the 65 degree weather crisp with the leaves rustling a tune and I think “What am I doing inside on the computer?”. I think this especially when it is MAY and we are in HOUSTON and it should already be a sweltering 90 degrees. So my mind is checked out, playing hookie. 😉
If I was to focus on the actual ‘show up’ moment for today up to this point (3:12pm) I would say the time I’ve had to spend catching up with a girlfriend at lunch and the time peace and comfort I’ve received all day walking with God – in adoration, reading the emails and texts I’ve received in response to yesterday’s blog post, and simply enjoying the day. I’m on my way to JENNIKA’S to set up a display of the Hopeful Hearts Charms with Jennifer’s help and that is foreshadowed to be a ‘show up’ moment as well because Jennifer is a consistent example of God’s love to me and the ministry.
And I’m being mindful of the fact that Neal and I have a dinner ‘date’ with our oldest, Ryan, and who knows what other friend will pop up to join us. Seth is gone to his first YMCA Lock In (God help me, God be with him…) and I don’t want the task of writing this blog to take away from the evening we can have together.
Sometimes it is important for us to be aware of the simple abundance of God’s presence in our life. 🙂
Now go, enjoy the rest of your day with open arms.
Blessings
Shannon
