This is the day of ANGELS & SAINTS… not officially but for me it is. 😉  I’ve posted about it before but I’ll never forget one Sunday morning at the end of May just before I was going to speak for four Steubenville conferences and then on to Sydney, Australia to speak at the World Youth Day festivities.  I was nervous, apprehensive, uncertain I was ‘ready’ to do this job and I had been watching a movie in my room when all of these feelings overcame me.  Through my tears I looked over at my clock and it read 11:11.   Days and weeks leading up to this moment I had consistently looked at a digital clock only when it was a time that could be repeated.  (ie: 10:10, 11:11, 12:12, 1:11, etc etc…)  Leading up to this Sunday morning I had been so bothered at this occurrence I even prayed about it asking God ‘What is up with the clock and me needing the time these days?”  In that 3-4 week period rarely did I look at the clock for the time without it being one of these anomolies.  So on that Sunday morning when I was experiencing and overwhelming rush of insecurity and worry I saw 11:11.

Unable to ignore the ‘Godincodence” I grabbed my laptop and typed in 11:11 which led me to a website that talked about 11:11’ers’.  As I have blogged before I’ll reiterate, I read only what I know God wanted me to take in and accept on this webpage.  Apparently there is a group of people that take this phenomena and make something ‘huge’ out of it but I think the little I took away is ‘huge’ enough. 😉  Basically it said when you happen to look at a digital clock when it is 11:11 or any other time such as I’ve listed this is when our guardian angel and the saints in heaven are communicating with you to let you know they are here.

When I read this I bawled like a baby on my bathroom floor, giving in to what it was that God had instore for me that summer, trusting He felt I was prepared.  Ever since then I’ve noticed if I’m about to read a ‘bad’ email from someone who wants to complain or hear about something that might cause some irritation due to the fight with the ‘enemy’ in regards to the ministry I have ‘happened’ to look at the clock and received recognition from the angels and saints.

Call me crazy.  That’s your prerogative.  🙂  It is quite comforting to know you are protected on all accounts.

When I wrote my letter to God this afternoon (the letter I write every January 1st to state my intention to be open to God’s will and whatever He has in store for the year) I didn’t realize the date until I wrote it down – 1-1-11.  Granted, it’s not that I can ‘happen’ to see this, I mean it is the date today.  BUT this is the only year we will see in our lifetime that will be the angel’s mark.  It gave me great comfort to begin this year knowing the angels and saints had a full day to remind us of their presence.

My devotional “My Daily Bread” did not fail me in giving God a voice for the year either.  The passage I read today is too long to copy (and would probably be illegal to do so) but it is found on page 303 if you happen to have the book.  The last promise He gives for the day is this: “Have no fear.  I shall never permit you to be tempted above your strength.  As I overcame the world, so too will you.  In My passion I obtained the graces which you will need to conquer your temptations.  Have confidence in Me.  I shall not fail you in your needs.”

Praise be to God! 🙂  And thank you to all of the angels and saints in heaven who watch over us, pray for us and guard us along our journey to heaven.

Blessings
