There is probably a whole lot more I would be able to say about this day if I were to wait and write late tonight, however, I have a date with my husband and I don’t want him to feel that he comes in second to this project. 🙂
You see, ladies, God has performed a miracle of small proportions but a miracle none the less. Remember when I wrote a few weeks ago about listening to a CD by Tony Evans in regards to the role that God has called a wife to have in a marriage (mainly to be her husband’s helper)? Well, Neal has now finished listening to another CD by Tony Evans (www.tonyevans.org) that addresses the role God has given to a man in the marriage which details 5 main Biblical requirements. It took Neal 2 days to listen to this CD and the return has been immediate. We had a long talk last night about what he heard when listening to Rev. Evans and we were able to discuss it within the context of the dynamic of our marriage.
The reason why this is a small miracle to me… Neal has never been an awful husband. He’s always been an amazing father and has not held back the support when God has called me out to do ministry. However, there are certain aspects that I’ve been trying to discuss with him that I needed and I knew if we could get these few things worked out he’d benefit as well because I’d be more apt to probably address some of his needs that he hasn’t been able to communicate. What these messages did for us were to lay down a biblical foundation and recognize where our pride and even the world view were taking center stage in the relationship.
Marriage isn’t easy. Marriage with sickness is even harder. And marriage without a solid line of communication is dead.
Rev. Evans says that the men are to be our sanctifier. And women, our role is to allow them to sanctify us. Why would we fight them??? We need to let them be a man. No, not just ‘a’ man, but our man! 🙂
Can I get an AMEN? whoop whoop! 😉
Blessings
Shannon
