It was a good weekend. Relaxing. Calming. Fun. Joyful. Everything we all need at least in one day. 🙂 I didn’t wear make-up. I only cooked one meal the entire weekend. I had good conversation. And my kids never complained or whined. 🙂 I wish I had taken pictures but I was so into doing nothing I guess I took it to the extreme. I’m sure some will pop up on Facebook somewhere. The weekend was a direct gift from God to begin with. We stayed in the very same houses we stay in when we do our Young Adult Beach Retreat in the winter. This past January (during the COLDEST weekend of the year) we held the retreat and the electricity went out. I believe I blogged about it then. Even though the rental company could do nothing about mother-nature, they still gave us a free weekend to use the houses before off-season was over. So we chose to have all the people on team bring their families out as a token of our appreciation to everyone for the sacrifices they give in order to do God’s ministry.
It was sheer bliss.
There is nothing more majestic than sitting on the shore of one of God’s first miraculous creations – the ocean. The tide rolls in non-stop, never ceasing, without end. As I sat and listened to this most magnificent miracle, the soft rumbling as thousands of waves picked up steam just as they rose, curling at the top and then splashing down just before shore…and then only milli-seconds later another set of waves rise, curl and then tumble down, the mystery of it all set my soul at ease. Yes I do realize there is a scientific reason that the ocean moves the way it does, something about the moon and gravity, etc etc…I don’t really care too much about that being that GOD formed the moon, created gravity, also forming our earth, sea and land. We can only go so far with science it’s the mystery of the creation that truly tickles the mind.
If God can form something so complex yet distinct then there is no reason to not trust Him with my life. And as I sat at night listening to the ocean’s lullabye and then again found myself transfixed on it’s majesty throughout the entire day the line to my favorite song (How He Loves) came to mind, “If grace is an ocean we are all sinking.” God’s grace is non-stop, never ceasing, without end. He loves us distinctly.
I don’t mind drowning in His love.
Blessings
