You ever had one of those days that just isn’t ‘right’?  I suppose it’s my type A personality but I chose to not get up this morning and do my normal routine spin class and from that moment the whole day was shot.  Trust me, I can handle a day NOT exercising but because I didn’t exercise it shifted the entire routine.

I took the day off in hopes I could get some rest from having been on the retreat this weekend and maybe get a few odds and ends that needed to be done for my ‘job’ as wife, mother, bill payer, etc.  Eight hours appears to be a lot of time when you look at it as a whole but when you break it up by what is done in that period of time then suddenly it dwindles down to nothing.  Most of the morning was taken up by Seth’s foot doctor appointment (an hour wasted so the doctor could look at his feet and say, “Well, it looks like it’s gone!”…thanks.).  By the time I finally came home and showered before lunch and accomplished some measly little tasks it was time to pick the boys up from school.

While sitting at the light from my subdivision to get on the main road I left a message for a friend and then put the phone down.  The light turned green so I went and as I was just about to reach the intersection the car in the left hand lane nearly sideswiped me!  🙁  I laid on my horn and swerved up onto the curb  to avoid contact, in fact he was half way into my lane and I swore there was no getting around our cars colliding until he apparently heard the horn or saw my BIG TAHOE and finally swerved back into his own lane.  UGH.  My heart raced and everything that had been placed in the passenger seat and on the middle console was beneath my feet and the gas peddle.  With a shaky hand I turned at the intersection and managed to turn into the grocery story to recollect everything.  Do you know how many times a day I watch other vehicles cross over their double line and then straighten up?  But this time was not some little mistake.

I think I’m still shaking.  Once I had the boys in the car I went to pick up the phone and dial a number and the entire event flashed before my eyes so fast I dropped the phone back down.  I will do my best from now on to not use my phone while in the car. FOR SURE no texting!!  I might answer a call but I’m going to try.

Like I said everything today was just thrown off kilter and I can’t imagine had that man slammed into me how much MORE my life would have been out of whack.  The littlest things can redirect the day or your life.

Now, I pray that it can all be directed back into place because Seth has another tournament game tonight and so far they are vying for 1st place in the play offs this weekend! I’d hate to have my day rub off on him! 😉

Blessings
