“I’m so excited!” is all I heard for the past 24 hours as I rushed to make sure the boys had every possible ‘To Bring’ item to make sure their camp experience was the best it could be. They were literally bouncing off the walls, on the couches, and into me! When we reached Cho-Yeh in the dead heat of the day they walked the road and guided me around campus as if they owned the place. 😉 (I tried to remind them that I had held countless retreats at the very same camp, which is why I felt comfortable sending them there…but I didn’t push it…they were having fun being on familiar ground.)
Seth was the first to go to his cabin and commence in the fun and games. Typically he is the ‘clingy’ kid but today we got his bed set up and then he was off to play ‘Ga-Ga’ ball. I didn’t even get a hug goodbye!! 🙁
Ryan and I then made the trek to his cabins clear across the campus (I thought I knew Cho Yeh…I had no idea they had so many cabins!!!). It was so far they had trailer/taxi’s to take us most of the way. Once at the cabin we set Ryan up and then I was basically ‘ushered’ out. No hug, no ‘I love you’, just “Bye Mom!”. As I was waiting for the next ‘taxi’ to take me back to the Cho-Teria to walk back to my car Ryan came out of the cabin and casually sauntered over and threw one arm around my waste for a hug. Do you realize how cool that is? Ryan is not one to hug! It was the best gift ever.
Well…I have to finish this rather abruptly as I’ve just received a call from a troubled young woman who is severely depressed. Severely…Please pray. And continue to pray for Joseph Stanton. There has been no new news to report as he is still in the medically induced coma.
Blessings
