This will be one of the shortest entries because it’s past my 24 hour deadline and I’m exhausted.  Tonight we had a house-warming/ birthday party for Neal.  It’s his 38th, not a ‘big’ deal but to me, any birthday for Neal is a big deal. 🙂  If you didn’t know, we also moved into a new home in November so this was the first time for many of our friends to come see the house.

The reception we received tonight from everyone reminded me what it must be like in heaven…to have rooms full of those you love, happy, smiling, no drama, no agenda, just ‘being’ together.  It was nice.

My lesson on friendship began before the party when two women took time out of their schedule to make this event effortless for me.  It was humbling to have them bring items from home, to cook and arrange things around all for our party.  One friend even had my youngest over to play so he wouldn’t be ‘bored’.  It was a sign of selflessness.

I thank God for my friends and I pray I can be a good friend to others.

Blessings

Shannon
