I’m exhausted.  My head is still spinning.  My stomach churning.  My legs are weary and my feet raw.  But my kids are smiling and it’s all good. 🙂

We spent the entire day at Universal Studios.  We left at 7:30am and returned at 9:45pm.  I won’t mention how much this cost for fear the symptoms will return. 😉  One thing I do know for sure is I’m thankful my kids didn’t want to do the roller coasters (as I have a fear of heights) but I didn’t realize how many rides were the simulated 3D or 4D rides…that jerk you around.  Granted they are very cool…you feel like you are flying or riding or diving, etc….but when you are someone that gets car sick like I do they are not for you!

Where was Neal, you might ask? He doesn’t like theme parks because of the crowds (who does??) so instead of listening to him complain all day I gave him an ‘out’.  I had to keep saying Hail Mary’s in my mind all day to block out ill feelings for knowing he was resting on the beach, sitting back with a drink and reading a book.  Ugh

Truth be told, it was a gift to watch the boys have fun.  I wouldn’t give that up for anything.  Plus, I enjoyed watching people.  There is no greater opportunity to see a large sampling of God’s people than at an amusement park!  There were groups from various countries, Brazil, Turkey, and I couldn’t figure out where the third group I saw was from.  I heard all kinds of languages being spoken around me…and I think I scared one family to death.  We had just arrived and were in line for a ride when I had a question so I tapped the woman on the shoulder and asked, “Do you know…” she looked at me like I’d just thrown acid in her face!  She moved away from me and her husband stepped in-between us and put his back to me.  Being slow to understand why she would be so rude, I asked the man, “Excuse me, but do you know…”  and they literally began pushing their way through the line to get away from me!  I had to check my breath to see if it was that bad!!  🙂  I came to realize they obviously didn’t speak English, however, I don’t know why they couldn’t just smile and shrug? So then I began to imagine if it were me and my kids that were visiting some foreign land and trying to have family fun but didn’t know the language.  Maybe I would be a bit skittish too?

We have one more day here in Florida and it is promising to be a gorgeous day.  I plan to do nothing but read and relax.  I know life will resume all too fast once we get back home.

I pray you are all well, enjoying the summer, enjoying your kids and managing through all the ‘family’ events you might have.  Maybe summer is a time of ‘testing’ for us all? 🙂

Blessings!
