Have you heard the phrase, “Ain’t that a kick in the head?” I feel like saying that right now. I’m torn between giving a good review or a bad review of the movie “Remember Me” which is out on DVD. It is that kind of movie that begins like a slug racing to find shelter from the rain ( a feat I’d imagine that is rarely accomplished). However, to keep you along for the excruciating ride they give you just enough in the opening scene that will keep you on board (like watching the slug make an inch after a long day’s journey and as the observer you see the sun begin to peep out of the clouds and you wonder what will happen to the slug when exposed to the scorching elements).
And then…as you’ve labored through the movie and begin to feel a bit of relief that you remained faithful to watching it to the end (and not just because the main character is EDWARD in the Twilight movie series) there it is… W O W… P O W… S L A M…$#%&!!! The kick in the head.
Ugh 🙁
A part of me just wants to TELL you all so you don’t have to go through it. So that you don’t have to carve out two hours of your day and then spend the rest of the 12-14 hours of your day nursing the wound.
*sigh* You know what’s worse? It makes me digress from all that was good and holy today. For instance, this morning I had the amazing privilege and honor to meet with Sr. Angel at the Carmelite Monastery in New Caney, Tx. I went to discuss with her the book and what mine (and MGN’s) intentions were behind getting the word out. She, and the rest of the sisters, are covering the effort in prayer as well as other intentions I laid before her. I love these nuns for this is their purpose…to PRAY and to REMEMBER US all in prayer…all day every day. Here is a nifty website for a Carmelite order in Arlington, Texas: www.carmelnuns.com. My meeting with Sr. Angel was a blessing and I felt at peace when I left her presence.
I’ve also had a friend of mine go full force in helping get the word out about EXPOSED to all of his friends and he got on the phone calling all of his connections in Louisiana to see about getting the word out all over his home state. It was like Sr. Angel’s prayer was already working! 😉
Finally, I got to spend time with a good friend today…however, SHE is the one that brought the movie over!!! 😉 It’s all her fault! But in all seriousness, I will say that in watching the movie it brought me back to a lesson I’d learned years ago when I lost someone I loved dearly…that we shouldn’t wait around for the hurts and disappointments to correct themselves…all we are certain of is today so if the chance to forgive is there then grab it.
Blessings
Shannon
