For the first time since Friday I have felt like I am myself again. The boys each had a friend spend the night last night which put me back in ‘mommy’ mode and today I went into work, got some things done and voila…let the normalcy soak in.
What I enjoy most about my ‘normal’ day is God always seems to give me a theme to pay attention to. Today’s theme began at an impromptu lunch with a friend. She was discussing having her own personal ‘epiphany’ to accepting a friendship and a ‘call’ that God had obviously set before her. The irony of her epiphany is that this evening I had a dinner with a young professional that was discussing the same type of epiphany. She said she had always felt called to go forward with a call to ‘administrate’ but she was always pushing it away because she never felt she had the ‘knowledge or skills’ to do what kept being set before her.
They both have recently come to the place where they have decided to trust God 100% and both realized that by doing this they are truly blessed and more at peace. Essentially they both have given their ‘fiat’ to God. Their YES to whatever he wants to give them, whether it’s a friendship, a job, a talent, etc. All He is waiting for is our YES!
I remember when I realized that things were really about to take off because I gave him my YES…when I sat in the parking lot of Houston’s First Baptist church after receiving the First Place Inspirational Writer’s Alive! Award. I felt all of my apprehensions fade and I knew I was about to take off on one crazy ride. He certainly hasn’t disappointed me! 🙂
It is a joy to be with others as they recognize their journey is about to take off!
Blessings
