If you are my friend on Face Book then I suppose you know half the saga of the day.  Regardless of what drama I seem to have (or do I create it?) in my life I have thoroughly enjoyed seeing where God has ‘shown up’ in it all.

This morning began at 3:35am when I was in a DEEP sleep and woke up suddenly, looked at my alarm clock and realized that it didn’t go off at 3:10 like it was supposed to.  I had set it to PM and not AM so it would not have gone off and we would have truly missed our flight.  Already startled awake I rushed into the shower and managed to still get ready in time to leave by 4:15am.

Once on the plane we taxi’d out and were waiting for take off when suddenly everything shut down.  The Captain gets on the intercom and announces ‘mechanica problems’ and they had to reboot.  20 more minutes goes by and suddenly the plane comes to life again, but the Captain gets on and announces that they found that a part is not working correctly for a safe take off so we had to taxi back to the terminal and wait for them to fix the problem.  That’s when I posted on FB…I mean, really?  My very next trip out and another mechanical problem?  I truly was thinking of just getting off the plane and going home.

About an hour later we were on the run way ready for take off and I felt that since of anxiousness overcome me.  I had already begun a rosary and by this time I was on the 4th decade.  As we began to gain speed I began to pray for Mary to cover us, the plane, the trip in her cloak and then I envisioned Jesus holding me, my chest pressed to His chest, His Sacred Heart beating through my body and then Mary came and embraced me so that I was sandwiched in-between Jesus and Mary both of their Sacred Hearts joining together within my chest, beating life and comfort within me.  It was such a vivid vision that it brought tears to my eyes and when I sat up to reach for my journal to write it down I realized we were already up in the air and all was well.

Amazing.  I wish I could draw so that I could put that picture into view for everyone.

By the time we reached the Chicago O’Hare airport we were told by the United flight attendant that if the board says our plane is ‘BOARDING’ that we still have time to make our connection and to make it to our gate.  We still had 15 minutes before our flight was to take off but we had 3 terminals we had to get through to make it to our gate.  Neal and I began to run down through the terminal but both of us were having issues running in our sandals so we took off our shoes and RAN BAREFOOT through Chicago O’Hare.  We made it JUST AS THE GATE DOORS CLOSED.  We could see the plane sitting right there but they wouldn’t let us in.  They have a strict policy of closing the doors 10 minutes before take off.

Can you believe that??? 🙁

I was wheezing we were running so fast.  Long story short we caught a flight out on Continental and yet our bags didn’t make it with us so we have to wait for them to be delivered.

Seriously, maybe if I was just like ‘whatever, who cares’ maybe this stuff really wouldn’t seem so ‘dramatic’? 😉  At any rate, I suppose, now that I’m here, in Ohio, with GORGEOUS WEATHER OF 70 DEGREES that I can at least say I’ve done something many haven’t.

I’ve run barefoot through one of the largest airports in North America.  Scratch that off my bucket list. 🙂

And I’ve been gifted with a vision of such peace and comfort that it will be emblazened in my memory for a lifetime.

Praise be to God!

Blessings
