“Be careful of what you ask for!” … how often I’ve thought of this statement after the fact! I was doing so well today, I worked a little bit from home, got some exercise in, laundry, etc and had all things ‘planned’ so that I could possibly get an hour or so of writing in on the new book. But for about an hour this morning I was kind of in-between chores and felt as if I was not productive enough. (Remind me to shut up next time I think this!)
Before I knew it a friend called to let me know she had something of mine that I needed to pick up so I figured I’d go and get some of the errands on my to-do list done early so that I would have even more time to write. However, when I went to pick up the item I didn’t want to leave. I wanted to stay and talk with my friend and I knew that I could because I had that extra time. And when I left her house I went and ran my errands. By the time I made it home I checked email again and before I knew it I got sucked back into the world of work.
Anxious to get back on my ‘schedule’ I would jump up and grab something to eat, or go fold another load but then one ‘to do’ after another kept popping into my head and the computer would draw me back like metal to a magnet. Need less to say…at the end of the day I did not write one paragraph. 🙁 But I was productive! 🙂
I wish I could have just thanked God for the extra time and left it at that…
Blessings
Shannon
