5am: – I hear noise coming from the living room…the lights are on and the TV is blaring.  Kids are up, I went back to sleep.

6:15am: – Our door opens and I hear “Come here Rocky…”  It’s Seth trying to be quiet and getting the dog out of our room.  Once he closed the door I had to jump up out of bed and turn off the alarm because I could see what was coming next…a blaring burglar alarm would not be a nice Christmas gift to the neighborhood. 😉

7:05am: – The boys come in the room, “Mom, did you say we could wake you up at 7 or 7:30?”   *sigh* “7:30 Seth, give us a few more minutes.”  I roll over, close my eyes and try to get to a point where I could wake up.  “Dear Lord,” I begin silent prayer, “thank you for this day of all days.  The day to celebrate the birth of our Lord and savior and for the gift of having eternal life with you.  Bless this day and make it Yours.”

7:18am: – I make Neal get up and the day begins…

There is no better gift than to watch the excitement of Christmas morning unfold through the eyes of children.  It doesn’t matter if they are 3 or 14 this day makes them feel special because someone listened to what they wanted and paid attention to what they enjoy and there it is before their eyes.  For them.  To keep.  🙂

It made me think about how God listens to our desires and hopes and pays attention to what we need and in time delivers these gifts to have and to keep.  Praise be to God!

I’m am now safely 5 hours north of Kingwood in my hometown Sherman, Texas visiting with my parents and enjoying the end of this most Blessed Christmas Day.  I pray you and your family have enjoyed the gifts you received – most importantly the greatest gift of all.

CHRIST.

Blessings and MERRY CHRISTMAS!
