…when I get a head cold just as I’m about to speak to a Holy Spirit filled group! I was doing just fine till last night when I headed out to Baytown, Texas to speak to a group of teens and adults at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. It was a last minute opportunity that came out of the blue and though I was on the verge of turning it down because it is the holiday’s and Neal and I had plans to attend a concert that same evening I felt the familiar nudge that this was one I needed to accept.
God being in the details He made it so that I could do both, the speaking engagement and the concert with Neal so it worked out. Where the cold comes in is because it never fails, when I’m about to get busy with doing His work something has to trip me up, like a head cold. I love it. 🙂 It’s great to know I’m on the right path. I hate the cold but I can deal with it. I have a retreat next weekend and then the big ‘tour’ in Mississippi two weeks after that so I will be diligent to get this immune system back in gear and FIGHT BACK.
Last night the parishioners of St. John the Evangelist were simply amazing. There is no mistaking when the Holy Spirit is alive in a church and He certainly is doing great things in Baytown, Texas! 🙂 It was just what I needed as well to kick start this upcoming New Year. This parish has been through some hard times in 2010 and it was great to witness their perseverance in faith and their enthusiasm for what is to come.
Today we are on day 364…time is so precious….I can’t believe it slips by. For 2011 I’m working on doing a few video entries, maybe twice a month (if I can figure out how to do it). The idea will be to offer a few ‘mini talk’s’ and add a little spice to the website. Stay tuned for more on that in 2011…
Blessings!
Shannon
