God is love.

We were made in God’s image – Genesis 1:27

God created man in his image; in the divine image he created him; male and female he created them.

If God is love and God created man in his image then…

Man is love.

If God is love and man is love then we are all inherently good.

If we are all inherently good then why do we allow ourselves to be convinced that we are not ‘good enough’?

Sometimes we are put to the test to do something in life that tests our courage to show how ‘good’ God’s created us to be…yet why is it that we then fear we don’t have the courage to be as good as we are called to be?

It’s easier to succumb to fear than it is to rise to the task.

This thought process can easily be used in order to help forgive.  It is how I found a way to help forgive the men that raped me.  I stood up to the task, imagined them created in God’s image, seeing them as inherently good.  Pity formed instead of hatred and sorrow instead of fear.

As Fr. Lukefahr mentioned last night, I basically prayed that they would one day come back to their root of inheritance.  That of love and good.  In praying this I am essentially praying to save others.  For if they come to do good then no more victims will have to learn to survive.

When I stood up to the task I embraced a new awareness of my own inheritance.  A new level of love.

Some issues happened today that I’m not really at liberty to divulge but I wanted to share with you how it affected me in this day.

🙂

Blessings
