Can you tell what I did today? 😉 The boys have been begging me to take them to see Despicable Me and I gave in this afternoon surprising the boys with a trip to the movies. Despite the frigid theater and the $3 charge each for the 3D glasses, the movie was adorable. I’m glad I decided to take an empty afternoon and sacrifice a few frozen appendages to snuggle with two of my favorite men in the theater. 🙂
The main ‘God moment’ for today was having the honor to be trusted with a personal issue. You wouldn’t believe where…well, if you knew that I talk to anyone anywhere then I guess you could believe…but I was getting a pedicure by my favorite guy who just got to open his own shop. I’ve been going to him for over 7 years and I’ve followed him to three different nail salons because he is good and he is cheap! Cheap is key. 🙂 Anyway, I suppose after 7 years he felt he could trust me and he began to talk about something that really has him troubled in regards to his family. I know many go to get pedicures to relax and ‘chill’ but I will admit that it was nice to feel useful to allow him to talk and release some of that burden by offering sincere prayer.
It made me think about the talk I’m preparing for next week ‘Love Others as Myself’…and when God is closer to us than we are to our own self then that means we love others as God would love them. Everyone.
