This week Ryan has off for Spring Break so for his ‘trip’ he asked to go back to San Antonio to see some the ‘sights’ he’s been to a few times when he was younger but doesn’t remember.

The selfie he didn't want to take starting the trip, me next to the 'eye popping' wax guy at Ripley's, Both of us in some weird light show, and Ryan playing a mind puzzler.

The Alamo (of course)... I've been at least three times now... and you can't have dinner on the River Walk on St. Patrick's day without spotting two Leprechauns!

Dinner with Ryan. It's been a great time just connecting one on one with him.

I’ll admit I was a bit ‘nervous’ to be one on one with Ryan. Why? Because he is 15 and in the stage of wanting to come home, mumble a ‘hi’ and stay in his room. It’s been refreshing to be with him all day, have conversation (yes he TALKED to me at lunch, and while we were at Ripley’s and Guinness World Records and the Alamo!) and get to know him on his journey into adulthood.

It is definitely a moment in my life I’ll cherish. It is short-lived. We come home today due to his rehearsal schedule for the school play.

At first separate Spring Breaks for the boys was upsetting and inconvenient, however, in many ways it has also been a blessing. With both boys Neal and I have had the chance to be one on one and connect on a new, deeper level.

Cherish those closest to you and live the life you imagined. 😉

Blessings
