God knows exactly when we need a pick me up. He is so faithful. 🙂 Two days ago I was dealing with a few personal crisis that had me left to wonder if I was losing sight of His ‘bigger picture’.
However, I think that I’ve learned enough in the past 9 years that instead of getting too far away I don’t struggle when He reaches out and draws me near. Even though at times when I’m drawn into Him it is because I’m in pain, confused, angry or frustrated and all I want to do is be like a child burying my face in his warmth of His embrace till I can calm down again enough to breath.
I watched my son, Seth, go through this too on Monday when he found out he didn’t make the D1 baseball team and was told he needed to try out again for D2. My husband was very upset because he felt Seth had a great tryout and he saw kids names on the roster that didn’t fair as well. But, so it goes, we win some, we lose some…it’s just hard to see your child learn that listen when YOU know that it truly was not ‘fair’. Seth was devastated. I had never seen him so truly hurt. Ugh. It broke my heart to listen to him cry and ask if they made a mistake. Finally, I was able to draw him near and let him cry it out in my embrace. Once he was calmed down I explained that the good that can and will come from this is that now instead of being an ‘ok’ player on D1, he can be one of the best players (and get more play time) on D2. That seemed to perk him up, and honestly, I do think this is best as Seth could use that positive reinforcement.
Whew…crisis thwarted. 😉
Seth was calmed down, I was calmed down and low and behold I get an email from the programming board for WYD in Spain…they are ‘reconsidering’ my application to speak there in August! 🙂 They needed a more detailed description so I got that done and now it’s just in God’s hands. But it was nice to be ‘reconsidered’. 🙂
And then last night, at 10pm, I get the news from my ‘agent’ friend that we got the review for EXPOSED from the syndicated blogger, Patrice Fagnant-MacAthur with www.spiritualwomanthoughts.blogspot.com

Like I say, always wait for that new day because it will come. God ALWAYS brings good out of everything and He is ALWAYS there to bring you near so you can calm down enough to breathe. 🙂
