Grace is like the Word of God – timeless and unique to each individual.  The definition of grace depends on the person defining what grace means to them.  The definition I would have given yesterday might not be the same I give today but what remains constant is its origin.

It is by God’s grace I endure some days and it is by God’s grace I embrace the joy in others.

God’s grace can be mysterious, majestic and immeasurable.  God’s grace can also be simple.

Like today, this morning I had my alarm set to get up and do my 5am workout.  At 5:25am I woke up to look at the clock and realize my alarm never went off.  No problem.  I reset the alarm and slept for another hour.  😉  However, when I got up and proceeded to do my normal morning routine of taking my leisure time to make sure the kids had what they needed for school and to watch the Today show I looked at my calendar for the day and saw I had an 8am LIVE Radio interview.  It was 7:55am.

Normally I like to take some time and look into the program who is conducting the interview.  I jumped off the couch, grabbed the phone and ran into the study searching for the information that I was given for the interview.  My computer was acting up so nothing would come up!  I had one minute before they were due to call so I stood up and walked over to the window, closed my eyes and prayed.  “God be with me, speak through me, and I trust this interview is in your hands.”  The phone rang.

I had no idea which direction it would go.  Greg asked very key questions which covered both children and adults and even marriage.  By the end of the interview I felt blessed for the opportunity and experience.  Only by His grace…

Later in the day I went to the seminary to meet with my spiritual advisor.  I went in with no expectations of what I felt a ‘need’ to discuss and yet after we began in prayer the direction of the conversation went exactly where I needed it to go and I didn’t even realize it until I was in the thick of the conversation.  God’s grace is precise.

Because we were discussing something I’d not felt comfortable discussing before I felt the confidence to ask about something else and I looked at my watch to see if I had the time.  I saw my watch said 2:35 (five minutes after our given hour) and yet I felt a nudging to continue.  Because I was able to bring up this topic and hear some truly anointed words from Fr. Earthman I left feeling complete and fulfilled in a certain area of my life.  The only issue was it was now 2:50pm when I walked out of the office and I was still clear across town when my boys needed to be picked up in 20 minutes.

will of god

I called Neal who happened to be at home (because his new company has not yet acquired their building) and asked if he could get the boys.  Thankfully he was free.  No worries.  God’s grace allowed me the time I needed to spend with Fr. Earthman and hear the things I needed to hear and to have the conversation I needed to have in order to move forward.  God’s grace is sufficient.

His Grace was enough for me today. 🙂

Where have you seen grace

Blessings
