‘If it’s not one thing, it’s another’ Imagine your life if you did not understand that statement. What if you lived day in and day out knowing exactly what was going to happen next, with no surprises, no sudden losses, or unexpected visitors and gifts. The thought makes me feel empty inside. That emptiness is what I recall when I have an overwhelming day, week or even period of time. The emotions that are stirred due to the excitement, the unexpected, the surprise and the loss are more welcomed than the loneliness of empty.
A week has gone by since my last post and there is so much I could write about (which is why I supposed doing it 365 days of the year was beneficial), on the other hand I have no idea where I found the time before! 😉
In a matter of 7 days (since my last full post) I have learned:
- Persistence and resilience go hand in hand. At some point when you persist you are going to run into resistance and you need the resilience to bounce back and keep going. This lesson came in both the true physical aspect when I had to venture to boxing class on my own without Neal. I was the only girl in the class but they didn’t let that matter. They treated me like them and thankfully I was persistent in going on my own but man, the resistance I felt when hitting THEM :(…yet I have what it takes to keep going. 😉 This lesson came too when I watched a dear friend of mine who is so good at being persistent but not used to the resistance. I think sometimes it takes us to encourage others not to nurse that bruised ego for too long or you’ll forget your fight. Our spirit can’t be touched. Remember that. 😉
- The key to ‘love one another as I have loved you’ when in an argument with someone is to take a break and focus on where this person is coming from in relation to their life experiences and what has formed their defense mechanism. Not to mention to take a look within and see what is causing you to react in defense.
- Not to gamble when in a bad mood. 😉
- The manager of Coyote Blues in Lake Charles, LA needs to learn customer skills from his more competent hostess – Courtney 😉
- Nothing is as important as watching a movie with your family. (And you’ll find that in being obedient to your greatest vocation God will validate another.)
- When you are feeling sick, run down and not able to function – IT’S OKAY TO STOP AND REST – let your husband taxi the kids 🙂
- Finally, we are all here to point one another in the right direction. It is important to be consistent in seeking God’s will and be willing to give over a desire to someone else when you realize it was meant for them and not you. For instance, I was asked to attend something this summer that I’ve always wanted to do, however I put it off because it really no longer goes with my ‘calling’ at this time. When I was asked to attend the temptation to go came back, yet it meant sacrificing a week I was going to plan with the boys on the beach. I put it in God’s hands, asking if it was HIS will then He would find the money for me to go and make me feel at peace about rearranging the summer plans. Instead, God brought in a special giving angel who realized there was someone else that also wanted this same opportunity and was in need of funds. This giving angel wanted to do this for her and instantly I knew that was where my part was in this…to be the in-between for them AND basically to link everyone together. By doing this it makes me feel good too and it validates that I was originally on the right track with my boys.
All in all, in 7 days time my spirit has not had a fleeting moment to be lonely or empty. For that, I am blessed.
Blessings!
