I awoke this morning expecting to find a thin layer of white blanketing the entire back yard, instead I saw icicles hanging from the branches of trees, pine needles encased in ice, even a frozen dog turd on the deck (apparently it was too cold for the dogs to get on the grass? 🙂 ). Though we didn’t have the snow anticipated in Houston we still had our ‘snow day’ due to the black ice on the streets.
That didn’t keep me from having my first radio interview this morning. It is an odd feeling answering questions over the phone realizing that it is being prodcast on the radio. The interview went well, David Lush asked questions I anticipated in regards to EXPOSED and then he began to go deeper into the dynamic of ‘exposing’ abuse and the journey victims take in order to become survivors. What I didn’t anticipate was being asked my opinion on the Catholic priest abuse scandal. Thankfully, my experience in Catholics Returning Home has lent me to already face this line of questioning and I was ready with my thoughts and opinions on the matter, all the while still upholding my adoration and love for our Catholic faith. Praise be to God for commercial breaks! 🙂
Once we came back from commercial David thankfully switched the topic to the healing in forgiving. There was so much to be said and so little time so he asked that I join him again next Thursday morning at 7:30am (WNIX 1330 for the Mississippi Delta). We will focus specifically on the Maria Goretti Network and the importance of this organization.
Today is also the LAST DAY TO VOTE on www.catholicism.about.com for your favorite Catholic books, blogs, twitter accounts, etc. Don’t forget to vote for EXPOSED: Inexcusable Me…Irreplaceable Him – and many thanks ahead of time. 🙂
The ice is still hanging from the leaves but has melted off the dog turd, so I suppose it’s all right to drive now, right? 🙂 Isn’t that a good way to gauge? Ha~
Be safe and enjoy your families.
Blessings
Shannon
