What a difference it makes when you TALK and get out the ’empty arguments’ that fester and feed off the darkness of your insecurity and worth…You get a good night sleep and feel empowered. 😉

Thank God because I felt like myself and managed to get through the glitches of today with a smile and a shrug.

It began with Neal getting sick and unable to take Ryan to the Father/Son Mass at St. Thomas, which also resulted in me stumbling out of the shower to throw on some clothes, hop in the car and rush downtown to get Ryan to school on time.

There were two male egos that needed to be consoled. Ryan who wanted to act like it didn’t matter that his dad wasn’t able to go to the Mass, and then text me every two seconds while I was driving on the highway, “Where do I sit when everyone is in here with their dad?” “I should’ve just ridden the bus because then I would’ve been able to get more homework done.” And so on.

Then there was Neal, whom I found upset because he missed his son’s event, he knew it hurt Ryan and lying on the bed in pain, sick. 🙁

Console and carry on. It didn’t even bother me when an appointment I had with a plumber (that was set for between 12-6…) managed to call as I was walking out of the house to pick up Seth from school. Isn’t it always that way? They give you a six hour window to ‘be available’ and you make sure you are home all day ….and yet the one 20 minute segment of the six hours that was non-negotiable was the exact time they call. Thankfully I laughed it off and told them my dilemma…after a few hems and haws they finally decided to let their technician grab a lunch break and wait on me.

That’s right…the plumber waited on me. 😉

All in all despite the lack of fan fare for the day it was a great day. I got a good portion of another chapter written in the new project I’m working on and finished reading ‘A Serpent’s Whispers’ by Trinelle Thomas.

Serpent'sWhisperA Serpent’s Whispers’ is a very direct and raw portrayal of this one teenage woman’s experience struggling with self-worth and getting caught in the enemy’s snare of violence, suicide, and teenage pregnancy. By God’s redemptive grace she prevailed. This would be a great book for parents to read and discuss with thier teenagers.

Yes, a normal, boring, productive day…gotta love it. Without them we’d go crazy.

Blessings
