I’m sitting next to my best bud, Emma, and she says that I shouldn’t take all my time writing in this blog.

So with that being said I decided that the way God showed up for me today was simply to enjoy my last two days here in Germany as best as I can.  Today was wonderful because I LOVE to meet new people and if you have ever been one of those ‘new’ people that I have met you know that I ask many questions…and it never seems to take long for me to get to know the ‘real’ person vs. the ‘you don’t me so this is what I’m giving you’ person.  😉

Why do we waste so much time hiding who we are, right?  If I had an ‘ideal’ world then we would all show our true selves right off the bat with others…if you don’t like me then so be it and if you do, then great, I’ve made a new friend.  We aren’t all going to get along…that’s the beauty of individuality but when you meet people you click with then make the most of your time together.

So that’s what I did today.  Here it is told in pictures:

Yes it's dark, it's dreary...a 'flash' doesn't help...but as my friend says "It's my life!". ;) Downtown Hamburg is still pretty neat, I mean it's not Kingwood, Texas! In many ways it is like a mini- New York City with all of the fine shopping just 20 minutes from my friend's front door. Not too shabby.

Here we saw that a parade of some sort was marching by... being that it is the middle of the week the downtown area isn't as populated as it was on Saturday. I tried to take a picture. Karen was trying to show me the beauty of the Harbor...

Being that I can't let things go without knowing what is going on we found our way to the edge of the 'parade', though it was't a parade after all. Apparently it was a peaceful demonstration or strike. A woman in a local store explained to me that it was the workers of the state...all those who work as teachers, for the police, government, etc. Anyone who works for the state was a part of this strike. They want more money. "It happens every year," she said and rolled her eyes. Can you imagine? This is the way to get a raise? Go on strike - same time, same place every single year. Ugh. So I'm hearing that the airport security is also a part of this strike which is holding up flights. I leave Thursday!!! Will I get out??? To be continued...

Later in the day we had lunch with Karen's new friend Nikki who is from London. I failed to get a picture at the quaint restaurant so I made myself at home and invited her and her young son, Kemon, over again in the afternoon. She is lovely...I'm so glad Karen has a new friend to keep her company while I'm so many miles away!

Emma and her new friend...and I know I'm saying or spelling his name wrong so I'll just leave it be. But he is one CUTIE!!!

After a nice dinner with Karen and Carlin I am ready for bed!  I pray you all have a wonderful evening.  Tomorrow is my last day in Germany…I pray to make the MOST of it!

Blessings
