He said to them, “Come away by yourselves to a deserted place and rest a while.” People were coming and going in great numbers, and they had no opportunity even to eat.” Mark 6:31
God’s timing always is the best. Who are we ever to doubt? 😉 Neal and I have had this trip planned to Napa, CA since the summer. We are going on ‘business’, but that is just a simple dinner. There is plenty of time to simply relax.
At first when I realized Neal was indeed suffering from another MS ‘flare up’ after being ‘free’ of these attacks for 2.5 years, I thought for sure we should cancel. Neal won’t have it. He received his IV this morning and I administered his first dose of steroids. My community is praying (as I know you are as well) that the effects of the steroids will do their job to stop the progression of deterioration and stay clear of bringing Neal into a ‘rage’ side effect. On my end it is another lesson in taking what is given to us moment by moment and not getting carried away with ‘but what if’. Right now Neal is Neal, as he says, “It is what it is.” He is determined to continue on as normal and so we are leaving early this morning for our long weekend trip to Napa. And in all honesty, we need it. I will force him to rest and relax if I have to hold him down! 🙂 (It’s more like ME that needs to be held down to relax!!)
Unless I get an itch to write while I’m gone I am going to put off blogging until I get back and caught up. Not to say God won’t ‘show up’ during this time…it’s just a matter of us paying attention, right? But if it is in such a way that I just can’t stand to keep it all to myself I will definitely put it out there. Otherwise I pray you all have a wonderful weekend, enjoy your family and friends and take a load off and rest awhile. Maybe make an extra effort to keep the Sabbath as your day of true rest this weekend. Why not? You deserve it. 😉
Blessings
