I listened to heart-wrenching tale of loss and grief this morning as we again waited to get access to take pictures of the storage units. So many lost everything they’d accumulated for their home because they are in transition from home to home. One man, former military, had all of his belongings, medals, plus wedding photos, kids baby pictures etc.
My friend was with me when we were told our units truly were destroyed to ash. She lost her wedding photos baby pictures, heirlooms, etc.
Now I’m set with a task of sorting through old photos to see what I can ‘prove’ I had in the storage unit.
My heart hurts not so much for me but the others. I saw this video this morning and have watched it at least three times today because it’s this natural, genuine show of empathy that reminds me how in the beginning our spirit is real, honest and true. The world can harden so many hearts. I pray this touches you and reminds you of the empathy we are called to display for others.
