School needs to begin so my schedule can get back on track. Anyone else feel the same way? 😉
I came home from the beach trip with the boys only to be pulled into a thousand directions. No complaints here…everything I have done these past few days has been purposeful and full of joy. I was able to be a lector for a couple’s wedding that met when they were in high school in the youth group I led. Though they both have now graduated college and are well on their way to continue the journey that God has led them into it is an honor to witness them entering into the sacrament of marriage.
Not wanting to miss out on any opportunity to spread God’s love around I was in Deer Park, Texas at St. Hyacinth on Saturday morning with a wonderful group of women who learned that crying can be both healing and joyful. 😉 Thank you to everyone who put on the event, especially Lori Fontenot and to the women who attended for allowing me share the day with you. In the end I am always blessed with your stories and I didn’t want to leave but it nearly made me late to the wedding!
Cutting it close I walked in my door at 2:40pm when the wedding was at least 12 minutes away and would begin at 3:00pm. I had never changed clothes that fast in my entire life. I ran into the church just as the grandparents were being seated. A few lessons were learned from that moment: 1) Pay more attention to time! 2) it doesn’t matter what you look like on someone else’s wedding day because it’s not about you! 😉 lol
Sunday I took Seth to Mass before our journey to Livingston to drop him off at Camp Cho-Yeh for the week and made it home in time to shower and then take my oldest to Mass again so we could attend the commissioning of our mission trip. I’ve never felt more ‘holy’ than this weekend! (ha ha…joke ;))
Neal has been out of town and we only get one day to see each other before Ryan and I leave to go to San Antonio on the RISE Catholic Work Camp. Ryan isn’t sure what to think about this ‘service’ experience but I am thrilled to dip my foot back in youth ministry and to share this time with him. I will be sure to take pictures and make note of the many ways God ‘shows up’ so I can summarize it all next week.
Getting caught up in my work as ‘Domestic Household CEO’ has kept me busy so that I will be prepared to be 100% in this mission trip experience. My apologies for the lack of entries and future apologies as I will be gone through Sunday only to come home and prepare for our FINAL FAMILY VACATION to my parent’s place in Colorado. – ROAD TRIP – Yes…that should lend to some good entries and pictures! 😉
I pray you and your family enjoy these last few weeks of summer!
Blessings
Shannon
