Congrats to Pat for recognizing my many flaws.  Yes, apparently I have 14 of them. 😉  Because she already has a copy of EXPOSED and a charm she will receive one of the first copies of REDEEMED when its released in June 2014.

This morning before I wrote in my journal I took time to marvel at how I’m down to my last 20 or so pages and how crazy it is that I can manage to start a new journal every year on January 1st and end at the very last page of the journal on December 31st.  Crazy.

It also reminded me that I need to find a new journal for 2014.  There is an excitement in the journal that seems to fall into my hands for a new year because in many ways it signifies that ‘theme’ for the year without me recognizing it in the beginning. For instance, this year’s journal I got as a very very last minute deal at Jennika’s because I had not yet found a journal that ‘called out to me’ and I only had a few days left before 2013 was to begin.  Jennifer, my friend who owns Jennika’s, doesn’t always carry journals and just happened to have a few copies arrive in her shipment the day before.

To be honest the aesthetic of the journal did not appeal to me.  It was black, shiny and didn’t ‘feel good’ to the touch.  (Like I said, I am picky when it comes to picking out my journals!) On the front it said, ‘Trust in the Lord with All Your Heart lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.”  Proverbs 3:5-6

I listened and bought the journal regardless of what it looked or ‘felt’ like.  Each page declared words of wisdom.  Some verses from the bible others from theologians, scholars, and saints.  Always the day’s wisdom would be helpful in what called me to pour out upon the pages.  Looking back on my year I’d have to say not only did the journal’s cover verse speak volumes to me but the black color signifies something as well.  It was a hard but extremely blessed year.

Dr. SeaussToday I wanted to share with you a nugget of wisdom that waited for me on the page this morning:

And even in our sleep, pain that cannot forget falls drop by drop upon the heart, and in our own despair, against our will, comes wisdom to us by the grace of God.”  Aeschylus

May God’s grace strengthen you as you rise to greet the day and comfort you as you lay your head to rest.

Blessings
