Viva Las Vegas!

Hmmm….or sleepy time Las Vegas??  Maybe that’s it.  Maybe I am just tired and that’s why I feel like I’m getting so old.  😉

Neal and I got up at 4:15am to make a 7:15am fight to Vegas.  On the plane four young men sat in front of us who were already ordering Bloody Mary’s and laughing and carrying on.  Neal and I had our heads back and eyes closed tring to get a few more hours of sleep.

When we finally landed I asked them what University they went to.  Turns out they were high school buddies coming together for this first trip ever to Vegas.  They went to Lamar, UTSA, and Texas State.

This is when it began, me realizing that I’m getting up there in age.  Not old…not at all but I’m definitely not in that ‘age’ anymore.  Now instead of wanting to hit the tables I took a picture of our view.

And when we finally met up with couple that we are vacationing with we walked around and admired things like fresh flower balls hanging from the ceiling and talked about family issues and life.

By the time we reached this water fountain I was delirious and told her to take a picture just because.  I mean it is a nice water fall but really?  LOL  😉

You know when you are hitting 40 when all you want to do is take a nice long hot bath in the bathroom and watch a Lifetime Movie on the TV that is IN THE BATHROOM.

Tonight will be different.  We are going for a nice dinner and to see Tim Allen and Ray Ramano live.  Oh wait…see…you know you are hitting 40 when you go see comics who had hit sitcoms when you were in your 20’s. 🙂

My ‘moment’ today?  Honestly, it is in recognizing that I’ve reached a milestone and don’t feel any desire to ‘live up to a standard’ that isn’t me.  I’m glad to be here, to rest and get away and maybe have some luck at a Craps table at some point but better still I will be comfortable in who I am today and pass up the club.  (Only because I can dance anywhere! I don’t need to pay a $25 cover!!! )

Blessings
